Erretres, a leading international branding consultancy, has crafted a bold and playful identity for UDIT, Spain’s first university dedicated to design and technology. Previously known as ESNE, UDIT underwent a significant transformation in 2023, evolving from a design school into a full-fledged university. This rebranding project reflects UDIT’s consolidated position as a premier institution for design education. The journey to redefine ESNE into UDIT began with thorough research and analysis of global design influences and internal insights. Erretres identified that the pride in UDIT stems from the work and achievements of its students. This insight became the cornerstone of the new brand identity. At the heart of UDIT’s visual identity is an impactful lettermark representing ‘the infinite possibilities of design.’ The innovative design uses the counterspace of the ‘D’ in ‘Design’ as a blank canvas, which expands and contracts to showcase a variety of student works. This concept is brought to life through a dynamic animation system, immersing viewers in a portal that explores these limitless possibilities.
